  • “All in Campaign Against Discrimination! Forum, Paris June 2019”

Merseyside Expanding Horizons is proud to be part of ANI International Project 'All in Campaign Against Discrimination!' supported by the Mairie de Paris, which was held in Paris in June 2019. We engaged three young people from Liverpool to be a part of this project and organised Workshops about stereotypes and prejudices and legal framework in the UK to act against all forms of discrimination to prepare participating in this forum. Before flying to Paris, we organised workshops in Liverpool to discuss with our participants about their knowledge of discrimination and to share more about the legal framework in UK and how can people be aware about discrimination types and how can they report accidents of discrimination. As well as, they created a video about cyber bulling as type of discrimination and how it could affect the lives of young people. We shared their experience during the forum in Paris and discussed with the attendees about discrimination and cyber bullying. On the other hand, our participants shared with us the new gained experiences and developed competences during the forum. Liam, one of our participants enjoyed working in a team before and during the forum and said “I learnt from others in regards to coming up with creative ideas for the video. You could say I developed my capacity for thinking outside the box" and continued “the most significant thing I learnt is about the UK laws surrounding discrimination in the UK, as I did not know about these before, and I consider it actionable knowledge that could be used on a personal or professional level."

  • REVALUE

Program Erasmus+ KA2 project Description REVALUE is an Erasmus+ KA2 project, which aims to exchange good practices in the field of validation. Although the process of validation of non formal and informal learning has been on the way since the early 2000's in Europe, the progress remains slow. According to our analysis of the situation in Europe (and our overview is backed up by the 2016 update report by Cedefop), some barriers remain in every country. We can notice that, on the one hand, the process doesn't progress equally in every country at the same time and on the other hand, some stakeholders involved in the process are more reluctant than others towards validation. This situation needs to be improved, according to us, because validation of non formal and informal learning is a leverage for employability. Our partnership gathers 5 countries highly interested in the analysis "on the ground" of the situation of validation within the countries of the partnership. In order to better grasp the issue, within our own institution and during our transnational meetings, we will meet all the categories of stakeholders involved in the process and will interview them. This will allow us to: - collect data from the identified target groups - to be aware of the real needs on the ground - to exchange good practices in our partnership - to make a list of recommendations to all categories of stakeholders Outputs A Validation national report A list of good practices A leaflet of recommendations dedicated to all stakeholders in the process of validation of non formal and informal learning Partners Coordinator: Ecole des FPS de Charleroi - Belgium Merseyside Expanding Horizons Ltd - The United Kingdom Pucko otvoreno uciliste Zagreb - Croatia Telsiu svietimo centras - Lithuania Stichting Edos - The Netherlands For more info, please contact: annabellan@expandinghorizons.co.uk
